The challenge our client faced

The training programme our client operates to meet good manufacturing practice (GMP) requirements takes three months. But due to staff turnover and a gap in trained resources, providing this training to new, on-site and temporary employees was proving a challenge in this timeframe. The knock-on effect of this was a negative impact on performance and quality.

Our solution to their problem

The Eurofins PSS Insourcing Solutions® network of companies focuses on optimising managed scientific services at client sites. Quality and technical training and development is the foundation of PSS. Our dedicated organisational development team provides full training to PSS employees prior to them working at client sites. We offer hundreds of technical, core, and leadership modules to our employees, while PSS employees can become certified trainers in client quality systems, improving efficiency and delivering training. We proactively cross-train PSS teams to ensure flexibility and continuity of services with fluctuation in technical service needs.

PSS analysed the client’s training plan to determine how we could meet their business needs, then created and implemented a completely new one. This training plan focused on immediate, client-specific training that would be compliant with their quality systems.

The results

By becoming certified trainers in the client’s quality systems, Eurofins PSS staff were able to accelerate employee training. We tailored technically relevant training modules to client-specified training requirements to ensure Eurofins PSS employees could quickly provide the highest level of quality services to the client.

The average training time went from 87 days to 37 days as a result of how PSS strategically led the training process. All PSS analysts were recruited in an average timeframe of 30 days, and trained to perform testing in the client’s lab within six weeks. This saved approximately 351 hours per person and helped deliver high-quality services at high speed, far exceeding the client’s expectations.
